This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal data when you visit our website (www.recruitltd.com), apply for a role through us, or contact us as a client or supplier.
2. Who We Are

3. What Personal Data We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
-
Contact details: full name, email address, phone number, company name.
-
Candidate information: CV/résumé, employment history, qualifications, certifications, technical expertise, and any other information you choose to submit through our candidate forms.
-
Communications: messages you send us through our contact and enquiry forms, and any correspondence with our team.
-
Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information and website usage data, collected automatically when you visit our site.
4. How We Collect It
We collect personal data when you: submit a form on our website (Candidates, Employers or Contact pages); upload a CV; email us directly; or otherwise communicate with us. We may also receive information from recruitment partners or publicly available professional profiles, where relevant to a specific role.
5. How We Use Your Data and Our Legal Basis
We use your personal data to:
-
Match candidates to suitable roles and manage the recruitment process (legal basis: performance of a contract / steps prior to entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in providing recruitment services).
-
Respond to enquiries from employers and candidates (legitimate interest / consent).
-
Communicate with you about opportunities, projects or services (legitimate interest, or consent where required by law).
-
Comply with our legal obligations, including in relation to right-to-work checks and industry compliance requirements (legal obligation).
6. Who We Share Your Data With
We may share your personal data with prospective employers or clients (for candidates), with our internal team, and with trusted service providers who support our operations (for example, our website and IT providers). We do not sell personal data to third parties.
7. International Transfers
As an international technical recruitment agency operating across the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa, we may transfer personal data to clients, partners or project locations outside the UK/EEA. Where we do so, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection is in place, in line with UK GDPR requirements (for example through contractual safeguards).
8. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain candidate and client data for as long as necessary to provide our recruitment services and to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, and thereafter for as long as required to meet legal, accounting or reporting obligations. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, subject to any legal retention requirements.
9. Job Applicants and Candidates — Special Category Data
When you apply for a role or submit your CV through our Candidates page or by email, you do so voluntarily. Your CV or application may contain, or you may otherwise choose to share with us, special category data (for example, information revealing trade union membership, religious belief, or health information relevant to offshore/medical fitness requirements for certain roles).
Where you provide this information yourself as part of a spontaneous job application, UK data protection law does not require us to obtain separate consent to process it, because it falls within the recruitment exemption for data volunteered by the data subject for the purpose of seeking employment. We only use this information for the purpose of assessing your suitability for a role and complying with any role-specific requirements (for example, medical or certification requirements for offshore positions), and we do not use it for any other purpose.
We keep candidate application data for a maximum of 24 months from the date of submission, unless a placement is made (in which case data is retained for as long as necessary for the employment/assignment and any related legal obligations) or you ask us to delete it sooner.
Depending on the role, we may share your application data with prospective employers/clients, and with specialist crewing, offshore staffing or maritime personnel partners who assist us in the recruitment process, acting as data processors under a data processing agreement. We do not share your data with unrelated third parties.
10. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
-
Access the personal data we hold about you.
-
Request correction of inaccurate data.
-
Request erasure of your data ('right to be forgotten').
-
Object to or restrict certain processing.
-
Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
-
Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@recruitltd.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
